Seven Marine
Seven Marine pushed the boundaries of outboard performance to unprecedented levels by marinizing GM's high-performance LS small-block V8 engines.
Founded by industry veterans, the brand was distinctive for bringing 500hp+ performance to the outboard segment, effectively replacing the need for multiple engines on large offshore vessels. Seven Marine units featured unique ZF-sourced transmissions and closed-loop cooling systems—technologies traditionally reserved for high-end inboards. Their use of supercharged 6.2L V8 powerheads allowed them to produce massive torque across the entire RPM range, capable of pushing 50-foot center consoles to speeds exceeding 60 mph. Although Volvo Penta acquired the company and eventually retired the brand to focus on sustainable propulsion, Seven Marine remains the ultimate high-water mark for gasoline outboard engineering and luxury performance.
